Fingers of the right hand during the exhibition

Photography, 2015

2 photos, each 80 × 120cm, wooden glass frame

Two photos hang next to each other. Both share the same image content in different ways, single black elements that lean against the wall in different rooms. In the left photo they clearly belong together as fingers of a hand, standing together and without further elements in the picture. In the right photo they stand together more indistinctly, one behind the other, and with spatial references and proportions beyond floor and wall. The photo cuts off a table on the right side. Shoes, bottles and cans, bags and boxes, food and drinks line up on the table and on the floor. The photos show an exhibition space opposite a studio space. The black elements are the fingers of the right hand, enlarged, cut out of wooden panels and painted black (210 × 180 × 5cm). Shown in an exhibition, they’ve been photographed, then remained in the studio and been photographed here again before they got finally destroyed.
