twittering machine

Dr. Jule Reuter

14 oct. 2020 – 08 nov. 2020

The university gallery of the BURG is showing an exhibition of young sculptural positions from Germany parallel to the exhibition of the 2019 Gustav Weidanz Prize winner Hannah Schneider at the Moritzburg Art Museum in Halle (Saale). At the Burg Galerie im Volkspark, sculptural works will be shown that are convincing through their special quality and their unusual handling of form, material and space, and also inspire to question sculpture as a medium in contemporary art. With the title twittering machine, alluding to Paul Klee’s watercolour Zwitschermaschine, the exhibition alludes to the relationship between man and machine, nature and culture and to the role of artists as inventors.
